Web-Enabled, Network Management
System Ready Adaptor
The Emerson Network Interface Card (NIC) provides Ethernet
connectivity for your Emerson UPS systems. The card allows
monitoring the operating status, and communication of alarms via the
network. The NIC transforms Emerson units into intelligent managed
nodes in your network, enabling in-band communications with network
management systems (NMS) that monitor the well-being of your
computing/communication infrastructure. This option allows simple
integration into the network management system, thus leveraging
prior investment and established procedures. The NIC can be used in
a network in according to Ethernet IEEE 802.3. The NIC communicates
using the SNMP v1 protocol.

• Provides alarm and status information as SNMP traps Network
Management System ready (HP OpenView,
Novell ManageWise, CA Unicenter, IBM Tivoli, etc.)
• Uses 10base-T Ethernet connection
• Fits inside the UPS or MSS
• Support for MultiLink 3.0 software

• Compatible with most Web Browser for basic network monitoring
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later
• Netscape Navigator 4.0 or later
